HardtHaven
Our aim is to help the orphanage HardtHaven in K'pando, Ghana. Children who are cared for there, have all lost their parents to HIV / AIDS and some of the children are HIV positive.
The children receive different support depending on his / her needs. They receive funding for schooling, food, and those who may need medical attention. The severely ill, may even rehabilitation of the local hospital, Margaret Marquart Hospital.
The activity also work to provide local communities and schools HIV / AIDS and health education. HardtHaven has recently begun to provide palliative care for HIV positive women, depending on their needs for food, personal care, etc. Volunteers spend time with these women, along with some of the older children in the orphanage volunteered to help.
HardtHaven provides an opportunity for volunteers from around the world to make a difference in Ghana.
The reason we chose Hardt Haven, is due to the contact our school has with the orphanage. Every year some of the UIG's (Umeå international high school) students the chance to, in the course of two weeks, visit Ghana. One of the objectives was to include visits to the orphanage.
Therefore, we know that by choosing Harderhaven ports money in safe custody and that will be used for a good cause, without ending up astray!
